I had a great warm up for the upcoming month of judo craziness. Yesterday was the 13th annual Morris Cup in Burnt Hills, NY. I had 4 matches, winning each by ippon (full point) within 30-45 seconds. I wanted to be as efficient as possible and reduce the risk of possible injury. Mission accomplished.
The first match I threw the girl for uchimata to end the match. The the last three matches, I won by various pins. I felt good going in and was satisfied with the way I was able to efficiently get the job done.
My JMJC teammates did awesome! The guys swept almost every division. Kossor won 60kg and Joe took 2nd. Brad Bolen won 66kg and Dave Harris took 2nd. Alex Turner won 73kg and Tony Sangimino won 81kg. The JMJC women did great as well. I took 48kg and my teammate Haley Meara took bronze. Maria Dhami won 52kg and Leah Fischer won 70kg. Overall, the JMJC seniors had a great day.
